Arena Rating System Explained

Complete guide to TBC Arena ratings, points, and seasonal rewards

How Arena Rating Works

The TBC Arena rating system uses a modified ELO system where your team rating determines weekly Arena Points and seasonal rewards. Understanding how rating changes work is crucial for climbing efficiently.

Rating Calculation Formula

Rating change = K * (Actual Result - Expected Result)

  • K Factor: Usually 32, but can vary based on games played
  • Expected Result: Based on rating difference between teams
  • Actual Result: 1 for win, 0 for loss

When you beat a team rated higher than you, you gain more rating. When you lose to a lower-rated team, you lose more rating. The system is designed to find your "true" skill rating over time.
